Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Gaza Residential Areas

Israeli warplanes launched fresh airstrikes on residential buildings in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of at least 45 Palestinians, according to reports from eyewitnesses and Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that 25 civilians lost their lives and many others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Hamada family's home in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Additionally, Israeli jets struck a house in Gaza City's Sabra district, claiming the lives of at least 20 people, predominantly children and women, with several others wounded.

Further assaults were reported as Israeli warplanes conducted air raids on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, occupation artillery targeted the vicinity of a residential building in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza.

The airstrikes come amid ongoing conflict, with Israel's offensive on besieged Gaza initiated on October 7 following actions by the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement. Despite significant casualties, including the deaths of at least 26,637 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuries to 65,387 others, Israel has not achieved its objectives in Gaza.

In response to the escalating violence, the UN's International Court of Justice issued an emergency interim ruling ordering Israel to prevent genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The court emphasized Israel's responsibility to limit death and destruction, prevent and punish incitement to genocide, and ensure access to humanitarian aid in the region.
