US Congressman Sparks Outrage with "Kill Them All" Remark on Gaza Crisis

A shocking statement by US Congressman Andy Ogles has sparked widespread outrage, following his callous response to a pro-Palestinian activist expressing concern about the devastating impact of the US-funded war in Gaza, particularly on children.

In a disturbing exchange captured on video, the activist confronted Ogles about the use of taxpayer dollars in bombing Gaza, highlighting the horrifying images of shredded children's bodies. In a brazen reply, Ogles callously stated, "You know what? So, I think we should kill them all if that makes you feel better. Hamas and the Palestinians have been attacking Israel for 20 years. It’s time to pay the piper," before adding, "Death to Hamas!" as he walked away.

The incident unfolded against the backdrop of the Biden administration's veto of a ceasefire resolution at the United Nations Security Council, marking the third time the US has rejected calls for a halt to hostilities in Gaza since Israel's assault began in October last year.

Ogles, a first-term congressman representing Tennessee's gerrymandered 5th District, is known for his staunch support of Israel. He has previously voted to censure Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American woman in Congress, over allegations of supporting Palestinian resistance against Israel. Additionally, Ogles has proposed legislation to restrict the entry of Palestinians into the United States.

The promotion of violence against Palestinians in Gaza has drawn condemnation and raised concerns about the stance of the US government. Lawyer, author, and human rights activist Faisal Kutty commented, "For those of you wondering how the Nazis, Daesh, etc. can kill people indiscriminately, now you are witnessing leaders and prominent people in the so-called enlightened democratic societies demonstrating that blind adherence to any ideology can make ordinary people into evil monsters."

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the US administration is preparing to send "tens of millions of dollars" worth of bombs and weapons to Israel, further escalating tensions in the region. The dire situation in Gaza has led to over 12,400 children killed since October 7, with approximately 600,000 children trapped in the border city of Rafah amid looming Israeli invasion plans. Organizations like Save the Children have reported a harrowing reality where nearly 10 Palestinian children in Gaza lose one or both of their legs daily, underscoring the urgent need for international intervention to end the violence and suffering endured by Palestinians.
