Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed that regional issues can only be addressed by countries of the region through dialogue and without the interference of foreign players. “To manage the affairs of the region, there is no need for outsiders’ intervention,” he said in a meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in Tehran on Thursday, Leader.ir reported. He added that crises in Syria and Yemen can be resolved through dialogue, but that must not be on weaker footing while the other sides rely on their military and financial power. The Qatari emir agreed that dialogue is the only solution to problems in regional countries, including Syria, Iraq and Yemen. The two also condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime and their decades-long oppression of Palestinians.“Against these crimes, the Islamic Republic’s expectation of the Arab world is taking explicit political action,” the Leader said. He criticized the passive position of some Arab countries, adding that if this stance is out of fear of the Zionists or desire for them, “they must know that this occupying regime is in no position to be desired nor to be afraid of.” Sheikh Tamim described Israel’s crimes as appalling, stressing the need for collective resistance against the incidents in Palestine.
