UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly is embarking on a two-day visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. During his visit, Cleverly plans to engage in discussions with senior Israeli and Palestinian officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.
A key focus of his visit will be participating in an international security conference, where he will address security challenges in Israel, the occupied Palestinian territories, and the broader region. Cleverly is expected to condemn Iran for its alleged role in supporting terrorism in Israel and reaffirm the United Kingdom's support for a two-state solution.
In anticipation of his visit, Cleverly emphasized the importance of a two-state solution as the pathway to achieving security, stability, and prosperity for Israelis, Palestinians, and the wider region. He stated his intention to emphasize the need for all parties to take steps to advance this cause.
As part of his itinerary, the foreign secretary will also visit Jalazone Refugee Camp, situated north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
