In a tragic escalation of violence, Israeli airstrikes have led to the death of at least 17 Palestinians, striking a school and temporary shelters in Gaza. The Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis reported receiving nine casualties from a bombing targeting displaced persons' tents in the al-Mawasi area. Additionally, seven lives were lost at the Fahd al-Sabah School in Gaza City, which has been serving as a shelter, while another individual was killed in an airstrike on a home in Beit Lahiya.
This surge in violence marks 400 continuous days of conflict, which has seen over 43,552 fatalities in Gaza. The ongoing Israeli military actions have resulted in severe humanitarian crises, with Gaza's health ministry reporting significant casualties and injuries. With nearly 70 percent of those killed being women and children in the initial six months, the UN has highlighted the dire situation.
Amid these developments, the Palestinian resistance movement has lauded Spain for preventing ships laden with arms destined for Israel from docking. Global experts have urgently called for immediate action to prevent famine in northern Gaza, facing severe shortages of food and medicine due to the military blockade. Leaders from the World Health Organization and the World Food Programme have expressed grave concerns about the potential for widespread catastrophe in the area.
