Tragic Death of US Journalist Gonzalo Lira in Ukrainian Prison: Biden did Nothing

In a disturbing turn of events, 55-year-old American journalist Gonzalo Lira has reportedly passed away in a Ukrainian prison after nearly eight months of incarceration. According to reports by the Post Millennial, Lira was arrested in May 2023 by Ukrainian security forces for his critical stance on President Joe Biden and President Vladimir Zelensky's handling of the conflict with Russian forces in Eastern Ukraine.

Lira's commentary included assertions that Ukraine's efforts to reclaim captured territories had been ineffective, leading to the loss of lives for a seemingly futile cause. Gonzalo Lira Sr., mourning the loss of his son, accused Ukrainian President Zelensky and U.S. President Joe Biden, stating, "I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, and incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days, and the US Embassy did nothing to help my son. The responsibility for this tragedy lies with the dictator Zelensky, with the concurrence of a senile American president, Joe Biden."

In a post from July 2023, Lira had revealed his attempt to escape Ukraine to seek political asylum in nearby Hungary. He detailed documents received from Zelensky's government outlining the charges against him, along with allegations of abuse within the Ukrainian prison system. The circumstances surrounding Lira's death raise serious questions about human rights and freedom of expression.
