Turkish President Erdoğan Condemns U.S. and British Airstrikes on Yemen, Warns of Red Sea Turning into a "Bloodbath"

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan strongly criticized the U.S. and British airstrikes on Yemen's Houthi rebels, expressing concern that the disproportionate use of force could transform the Red Sea into a "bloodbath." Speaking to journalists after Friday prayers in Istanbul, Erdoğan emphasized the lack of proportionality in the attacks and voiced his apprehension about the severe consequences they may have on the region.

The airstrikes were in response to Houthi attacks on ships deemed to be linked to Israel in the Red Sea. Erdoğan mentioned that the Turkish government had received information indicating the Houthis' successful defense against the U.S. and Britain.

Addressing the ongoing genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Erdoğan expressed confidence in the court's proceedings. He highlighted Turkey's contribution to documenting Israel's alleged crimes and asserted, "All the documents we have given are seriously working in The Hague, and I believe Israel will be found guilty." Erdoğan concluded by stating that former Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu no longer has a means of escape or defense. The situation underscores growing tensions and international legal scrutiny in the Middle East.
