Pakistan has officially announced the complete restoration of diplomatic relations with Iran following heightened cross-border tensions over counterterrorism operations. The decision was made after an emergency security meeting led by caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, who emphasized the mutual interest of both countries in restoring their relationship to pre-tension levels. The move includes the dispatch of ambassadors to their respective missions. In a phone conversation, Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called for increased cooperation in various areas, including counterterrorism and border security. Both nations expressed a commitment to working together to neutralize and eliminate terrorist threats.
