Medical authorities in the Gaza Strip report the loss of at least four lives at a hospital in the southern region of the territory due to a power outage during an Israeli raid, exacerbating the situation by restricting oxygen supplies.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Nasser Hospital's generators stopped functioning and power was disrupted during the incident, raising concerns for six patients in intensive care and three infants in a nursery in Khan Younis.
Blaming the Israeli Occupation for the dire circumstances, the Health Ministry holds them responsible, emphasizing that the complex is now under Israeli control.
Dr. Nahed Abu Taima, director of Nasser Medical Complex, describes the scene as "catastrophic," with patients and civilians being rounded up by Israeli forces and transferred to the hospital's old building.
Reports also indicate that two women had to give birth under appalling conditions without basic necessities such as electricity, water, food, or heating.
Amid warnings of imminent fuel depletion and the Israeli blockade threatening lives, the health ministry appeals urgently to international institutions to intervene and save patients and staff at the Nasser Medical Complex.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza, exacerbated by the recent Israeli raid, has resulted in a devastating toll on civilian lives and infrastructure, further aggravating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
