Iranian and Saudi Foreign Ministers Confer on Gaza Crisis

In a recent telephone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud discussed pressing regional and international issues, with a focus on the escalating situation in southern Gaza's Rafah city and the dire humanitarian conditions within the strip amid Israel's relentless assaults. Both ministers underscored the urgency of charting a strategic path in bilateral relations, given the current regional dynamics and challenges confronting the Muslim world, particularly the Palestinian predicament.

Amir-Abdollahian condemned Israel's continued atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank, particularly in Rafah, and called for concerted efforts to counter the regime's aggressive actions. He further implicated the United States in enabling Israeli aggression, warning of dire consequences if the conflict persists unchecked. Urging a political resolution, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the imperative of an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Council of Foreign Ministers to address the crisis in Gaza. Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen, with casualties mounting as Israel intensifies its brutal campaign against the besieged enclave, underscoring the pressing need for international intervention to alleviate the suffering of civilians.
