In a meeting held in Bishkek, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Kyrgyz Republic's Security Council Secretary Marat Imankulov expressed their shared objection to Western interference in regional countries' domestic affairs and attempts to impose demands on them.
Highlighting concerns over Western financing of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and increased acts of terror in Central and West Asia, the officials discussed enhancing cooperation, particularly in political, security, and military realms, with a focus on combating groups like Daesh.
Ahmadian extended an invitation to Imankulov to visit Iran, which was accepted, signaling a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
The meeting comes as Ahmadian leads a delegation to participate in the 6th Summit of Secretaries and Advisors of National Supreme Councils of regional countries on Afghanistan in Bishkek. This summit brings together top security officials from Iran, Russia, China, India, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to address key security and political issues concerning Afghanistan and their implications for the broader region.
