Biden Administration Plans Massive Arms Shipment to Israel Amid Gaza Conflict

The administration of US President Joe Biden is reportedly gearing up to send "tens of millions of dollars" worth of bombs and weapons to Israel, continuing Washington's unwavering support for the occupying regime's ongoing war on Gaza.

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed US officials, the proposed arms delivery includes MK-82 bombs, KMU-572 Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) for precision guidance, and FMU-139 bomb fuses.

The report suggests that the Israeli regime has requested these items for defense against "continued and emerging regional threats," as assessed by the US embassy in occupied al-Quds.

While the proposed delivery undergoes internal review, Biden's administration is considering the transfer, with details subject to change before notifying congressional committee leaders for approval.

Since December 2023, Washington has bypassed congressional review twice for weapons sales to Israel amid its prolonged aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, resulting in significant casualties.

Biden has reportedly supplied around 21,000 precision-guided munitions to Israel since the conflict began in October 2023, enough to sustain ongoing bombing for weeks, but possibly shrinking to days if a full assault on Lebanon is launched.

Despite Biden's calls for a temporary ceasefire, the Israeli regime persists in planning a ground invasion of Rafah, disregarding international appeals. Rafah, with a displaced population of over 1.4 million, remains a focal point of the conflict.

Since October 2023, over 28,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, and more than 68,000 injured in Israel's US-backed offensive on Gaza.

The United States, Israel's staunchest ally, continues to provide arms and ammunition, vetoing UN Security Council resolutions urging an end to Israeli aggression.
