Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on multiple targets in Lebanon's southern town of Ghazieh, causing injuries to at least 14 civilians, as reported by Lebanese military sources today.
Speaking anonymously, the sources disclosed that Israeli fighter jets carried out four airstrikes on Monday, targeting the coastal town situated near Sidon. The strikes focused on the industrial area behind al-Rai private hospital and the vicinity of a supermarket.
The airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a factory manufacturing electric generators and severe damage to a tire factory and ten neighboring shops. Additionally, an iron and aluminum manufacturing factory near the supermarket was destroyed, along with damage to six commercial stores. A residential house occupied by Syrian workers also suffered damage, leading to injuries for 12 individuals.
Furthermore, two members of the civil defense teams sustained injuries while extinguishing fires caused by the explosions.
Israel's continued airstrikes in Lebanon have raised concerns about civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, exacerbating tensions in the region.
In a related development, separate Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of at least 11 civilians, including children, underscoring the escalating violence in the area.
Israel's recent hostilities in Lebanon are part of its broader military campaign initiated in October against the Gaza Strip, prompting retaliatory actions from Hezbollah in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Hezbollah has pledged to continue its retaliatory operations against Israel as long as the aggression against Gaza persists.
The ongoing Israeli campaign in Gaza has resulted in a significant loss of life, with over 29,000 fatalities, predominantly women and children, and nearly 70,000 individuals wounded, highlighting the devastating human toll of the conflict.
