Hamas Official Accuses US of Aiding Israeli War Efforts in Gaza

A senior Hamas official has accused the United States of conducting reconnaissance missions over the Gaza Strip to support Israel's ongoing military campaign against the territory.

During a press briefing in Beirut, Osama Hamdan, Hamas' senior representative in Lebanon, claimed that American aircraft are flying over Gaza to provide intelligence to the Israeli regime, aiding them in their military operations.

While the type of aircraft was not specified, it is well-known that the US often utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for intelligence gathering purposes worldwide.

The US has been a significant supporter of Israel's military actions in Gaza, providing political and military assistance. Despite calls from the international community for a ceasefire, the US has vetoed multiple UN Security Council resolutions aimed at halting the Israeli aggression.

According to Hamdan, the Israeli regime relies heavily on US support to sustain its military operations in Gaza. He criticized the West for its silence on reported human rights violations and called for an independent investigation into abuses against Palestinian women and children.

Hamdan also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of prolonging the conflict to divert attention from his legal troubles. Despite Israeli efforts to secure the release of captives held by Hamas, the group has insisted on a complete cessation of Israeli aggression as a condition for their release.
