Human Rights Group Condemns Israeli Attacks on Displaced Palestinians in Gaza

A Geneva-based human rights organization, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, has accused the Israeli regime of turning a supposedly safe corridor for displaced Palestinians in Gaza into a deadly trap, resulting in the killing of innocent civilians.

According to Euro-Med, Israeli forces targeted Palestinians fleeing from Gaza City to the al-Mawasi area in the south of the territory, including civilians waiting for aid trucks near the Wadi Gaza checkpoint. The organization reported at least 30 Palestinians killed as they awaited aid near al-Nabulsi roundabout on al-Rasheed Street southwest of Gaza City.

Euro-Med documented instances of Israeli tanks firing on civilians, predominantly women, children, and the elderly, as they attempted to flee, even though they were following Israeli army orders and carrying white flags.

The rights group condemned these actions as unlawful killings and extrajudicial executions, constituting grave violations of international humanitarian law. It categorized the attacks as war crimes and crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Euro-Med called for an independent international investigation committee to examine Israel's military actions in Gaza and to hold those responsible for crimes and violations against Palestinians accountable.
