WHO Documents 410 Israeli Attacks on Gaza's Healthcare Sector

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recorded a staggering 410 Israeli assaults on Gaza's healthcare infrastructure since the onset of the regime's genocidal campaign on October 7.

According to the WHO's latest report, these attacks have resulted in 685 fatalities and 902 injuries, with 99 healthcare facilities and 104 ambulances suffering damage across Gaza.

Gaza City bore the brunt of these assaults, with 38% of attacks occurring there, followed by North Gaza at 23% and Khan Younis at over 25%.

Highlighting the sanctity of healthcare in conflict zones, the WHO called on Israel to adhere to international law, which mandates the protection of civilians and medical facilities.

Earlier warnings from the WHO underscored a dire situation, with Gaza's children facing starvation. Margaret Harris, WHO representative, shared harrowing accounts of newborns succumbing to starvation due to low birth weight.

The UN has raised alarms over Israel's potential use of starvation as a weapon in its offensive against Gaza. Severe restrictions on aid, coupled with military action, could constitute a war crime, according to UN human rights chief Volker Turk.

Despite repeated alerts, international action has been lacking, leaving Gaza's population vulnerable to a man-made catastrophe.

Since the conflict's outset, Israel's aggression has claimed over 31,600 lives in Gaza, predominantly women, children, and adolescents. In response, resistance movements from Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen have engaged in military operations against Israel and its regional interests.
