Iranian Security Forces Thwart Terrorist Attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan Province

In a recent development, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) reported that Jaish al-Adl terrorists suffered significant losses, with 18 fatalities, during attacks on public areas, military, and law enforcement bases in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

According to an IRGC statement released Thursday, the overnight attacks aimed to seize control of IRGC headquarters in the towns of Chabahar and Rask. However, Iran's security forces, while losing 10 members, successfully thwarted the assailants' attempts.

The coordinated attacks, launched by "terrorists and armed bandits affiliated with foreign intelligence services," targeted five public areas along with military and law enforcement bases in Chabahar and Rask. Iran's security forces demonstrated tact, patience, and intelligence in their response, ensuring the safety of civilians before engaging with the attackers.

With the involvement of the Southeast Security Base of the IRGC Ground Forces and the police command forces, a decisive operation was carried out, resulting in the elimination of all terrorists and armed bandits. As a result, complete security and peace were restored to the affected areas.

The operation led to the death of 18 terrorists and armed criminals, while 10 security forces personnel were martyred, and several others sustained injuries. Deputy Interior Minister Majid Mirahmadi confirmed that the terrorists failed in their attempt to seize the IRGC headquarters.

Jaish al-Adl, a terrorist group responsible for multiple attacks on Iranian security forces in Sistan and Baluchestan, has been a source of unrest in the region. The area, bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, has often witnessed clashes between Iranian security forces and Takfiri terrorists and drug traffickers.

In December, the group launched an attack on a police station in Rask, resulting in the death of 11 security personnel. Iran responded by targeting two bases of the terrorist group in Pakistan with missiles.

Describing Jaish al-Adl as the "terrorist group of Jaish al-Zulm (Army of Brutality)," the IRNA news agency emphasized its clear affiliation with the Zionist regime. The recent attack coincides with an Israeli airstrike on Iran's consular section in Damascus, which claimed 13 lives, including seven IRGC military advisors.

The IRGC's statement issued a warning to regional and extra-regional enemies and terrorist groups, asserting that Iran's national security and peace are non-negotiable. Any threat to the safety of Iranian citizens will be met with decisive action by defenders of the Islamic homeland.
