Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that Iran would retaliate "within seconds" to any further Israeli "mistake" against the country.
During a televised interview on Monday, Bagheri Kani emphasized, “In case of repetition of another mistake, they should expect a harsher, faster, and more immediate response.” He further added that Israel should not expect the same time span as before, stating, “The response that they are going to receive [this time around] cannot be measured by [such time standards as] days or hours, but [will come in a matter of] seconds.”
The warning comes in the wake of an Israeli attack on Iran’s diplomatic premises in Damascus on April 1, resulting in the death of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and several other Iranian officers. In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched Operation True Promise, targeting Israeli military bases across occupied territories with drones and missiles.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Iranian Army Chief Commander, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing Iran's readiness to deliver a “stormy and unified” response to any act of aggression. He emphasized that Israel should reconsider any further hostile actions against Iran.
Amid escalating tensions, Iranian leaders, including President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, have consistently warned of a stronger and more severe response to any future Israeli aggression.
