Iran’s Response to Israeli Aggression Praised by Russian President Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin commended Iran's "tactful and wise" reaction to the Israeli aggression against its consulate in Syria during a phone conversation with President Ebrahim Raeisi on Tuesday. Putin described Iran's response as the best way to punish the aggressor, emphasizing the rationality and tactfulness of Iran's politicians.

Putin criticized the Israeli regime for its "terrorist act" against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, stating it violated international standards and rules. He further condemned the United States and certain Western countries for escalating tensions in the region, affirming Iran's role as a pillar of stability and security.

President Raeisi warned Israel and its Western supporters against crossing Iran's red lines. He declared that Iran would respond with greater force to any action against its interests. Raeisi highlighted that Iran's response to Israel's act was in line with international law and was a clear violation of global peace.

Expressing gratitude, Raeisi thanked Moscow for its "principled and constructive" stance against the Israeli aggression. He acknowledged Russia's diplomatic efforts to counter the conspiracies of the United States and certain Western countries in the UN Security Council.

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched extensive missile and drone strikes against Israeli military bases in response to Israel's attack on the Iranian embassy's consular section in Damascus. The operation, named "True Promise," inflicted damage on Israeli military installations across occupied territories. The full extent of the damage is yet to be determined.

In the Israeli attack on Iran’s diplomatic mission, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the IRGC Quds Force, his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five accompanying officers were assassinated.
