Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, met with President Bashar al-Assad of Syria in Damascus on Tuesday. Their discussions covered various issues, including the crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip and the need to halt Israel's actions against Palestinians.
Bagheri Kani, on the second leg of his regional tour after visiting Lebanon, emphasized that his trip aims to enhance coordination among resistance groups confronting Israel. He underscored that the relationship between Iran and Syria remains deeply rooted and strategic, based on firm principles and common interests.
President Assad reiterated Syria's commitment to resisting occupation as a fundamental and strategic choice, highlighting that resistance has always been the correct approach in facing occupiers. He noted that the occupation intensifies its violence when faced with resilient resistance.
