Yemeni Resistance Leader Vows Continued Strikes on US Aircraft Carrier

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, has declared that the country's Armed Forces will continue targeting the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, an American aircraft carrier, which has already been struck twice in recent anti-American operations. In a speech on Thursday, al-Houthi asserted, “The American aircraft carrier ‘Eisenhower’ will remain a target for our Armed Forces whenever the opportunity arises,” and pledged that future strikes would be "more impactful and effective."

The Eisenhower was first hit on Friday and then again on Saturday in the Red Sea, as a response to what al-Houthi described as American aggression against Yemen. The leader praised the strikes as significant operations, noting that the carrier was hit within 24 hours using seven cruise missiles and four drones. The attacks caused the carrier to retreat towards the northern Red Sea, halting its air traffic for two days.

American and British forces have recently targeted western Yemeni provinces, killing at least 16 people and wounding more than 40 others. These actions were described as attempts to curb Yemen’s pro-Palestinian operations.

Al-Houthi also criticized the US for denying the strikes on the Eisenhower, attributing the denials to American embarrassment and a sense of defeat. He asserted that the truth about the targeting would eventually come out, despite American efforts to conceal it.

Israeli Failure in Gaza

In his speech, al-Houthi also addressed the ongoing conflict in Gaza, claiming that Israel has failed to achieve its goals despite launching a genocidal war against the territory since last October. He contrasted the steadfastness of Gaza’s resistance movements with the quick defeat of Arab armies in the 1967 Six-Day War against Israel. Al-Houthi highlighted that, despite having fewer resources, the Palestinian resistance has demonstrated significant resilience against Israeli forces.

Escalation of Joint Anti-Israeli Operations

Additionally, al-Houthi praised the collaboration between Yemeni and Iraqi resistance forces. Earlier, Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that joint operations had been conducted against three ships carrying military equipment in the port of Haifa, northern Israel.

The ongoing military operations and political statements underline the increasing volatility and complexity of the conflict in the region, with multiple actors engaging in actions that are likely to have wide-ranging consequences.
