Hamas Condemns US Complicity in Gaza Massacre

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned the United States for its involvement in what it describes as Israel’s horrific massacre of civilians at the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. On Wednesday, an Israeli raid in Nuseirat resulted in the deaths of at least 210 people and left hundreds injured, during which four Israeli prisoners were retrieved.

The Israeli military labeled the raid a “complex daytime operation” but did not mention the high Palestinian casualties in its statement. According to a report by Axios, US hostage recovery officials in the occupied territories assisted the Israeli military in the operation.

Hamas, in a statement on its Telegram channel, criticized the operation and the involvement of the US. “What the Nazi occupation army announced about rescuing a number of its captives in Gaza…will not change its strategic failure in the Gaza Strip,” Hamas said. It claimed to still hold the majority of captives and emphasized its ability to increase its capture tally, impacting civilian lives.

The resistance group asserted that the US media reports of Washington’s complicity confirm the Biden administration's involvement in war crimes in Gaza, exposing the falsehood of its humanitarian stance. Hamas called on the international community and the United Nations to take a stand against these crimes.

The Israeli offensive in Gaza has claimed over 36,800 lives since early October. Yemen's Ansarullah movement also condemned US support for the atrocities in Gaza, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called for an international investigation into the massacre.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement echoed the condemnation, describing Israel's actions and existence as a disgrace to humanity. They urged global pressure on Washington to cease its support for what they term criminal actions.

In parallel developments, the UN recently added the Israeli military to its "list of shame" for violations against children, a move that was catalyzed by the ongoing conflict and high child casualties in Gaza.
