Rep. The committee has issued subpoenas to members of the administration as part of its investigation into the incident.

McCaul stressed the importance of providing answers to the families of the fallen service members and advocated for transparency in the investigation. Thirteen American service members and numerous Afghan residents lost their lives in the suicide bombing at Kabul Airport during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.
