McCaul, a member of the House committee, has indicated that the committee is seeking testimony from Jen Psaki regarding the withdrawal from Afghanistan

Rep. Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has expressed the committee's desire to interview current and former members of the Biden administration, including former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, regarding the 2021 bombing that resulted in the deaths of 13 service members during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

McCaul emphasized discrepancies between the messages conveyed by administration officials and the situation on the ground during the withdrawal. He mentioned comments made by officials like John Kirby and Ned Price that did not align with the reality of the situation. The committee has issued subpoenas to members of the administration as part of its investigation into the incident.

McCaul stressed the importance of providing answers to the families of the fallen service members and advocated for transparency in the investigation. Thirteen American service members and numerous Afghan residents lost their lives in the suicide bombing at Kabul Airport during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee is conducting an investigation into the U.S. withdrawal from Kabul, which has been widely criticized as poorly executed. The committee has held hearings on the matter, including one where Secretary of State Antony Blinken was questioned about the retrieval of necessary documents and information related to the withdrawal.
