Iran Calls for International Probe into Allegations of Israeli Forces Burying Palestinians Alive in Gaza Hospital

Iran has urged an immediate international investigation into disturbing reports and evidence suggesting that Israeli forces used bulldozers to crush and bury sick and wounded Palestinian civilians alive in the courtyard of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, located in the northern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Footage released by Al Jazeera on Saturday revealed the aftermath of the incident, showcasing mangled tents and personal belongings of Palestinians in the hospital's courtyard. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani took to his X account on Monday, stating, "International investigation into the matter is a must." He emphasized that the footage demonstrated that "some wounded people were buried alive in the hospital grounds by bulldozers" after the Israeli military retreated from Kamal Adwan.

Kan'ani underscored the gravity of the situation, asserting that Israel's actions had exposed its "true face and anti-human" nature, particularly in the ongoing conflict with Gaza. He highlighted the conversion of Al-Shafa Hospital into a mass grave, with the Israeli forces preventing the retrieval of bodies, leading to hundreds of Palestinians being killed.

The Iranian spokesperson's concerns were echoed by Palestinian Health Minister Mai Alkaila, who, in a press statement on Saturday, shared information and testimonies indicating that Israeli forces had buried Palestinians alive in the hospital's courtyard. Alkaila noted that some of the victims were seen alive before being besieged by Israeli tanks.

The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor issued a statement on Saturday, emphasizing the urgency of an international investigation into the reported Israeli violations at Kamal Adwan Hospital. The organization is actively documenting the events, emphasizing the need to scrutinize the Israeli actions against patients, displaced civilians, and medical workers in the hospital over the past days. The call for an international inquiry aims to bring accountability and shed light on the alleged grave violations of human rights in Gaza.
