A senior Hezbollah official has issued a stark warning to Israel, stating that any move to expand the war against Lebanon will result in "devastation and destruction." Sheikh Naim Qassem, deputy chief of Lebanon’s resistance movement, emphasized on Tuesday that while Hezbollah does not seek to escalate the conflict, it is fully prepared for any imposed war.
"We are ready for the battle and will not allow Israel to secure any victories," said Sheikh Qassem. He reiterated that if Israel initiates an all-out war, Hezbollah is prepared to respond decisively.
These comments followed Hezbollah's launch of a squadron of drones against an Israeli military barracks for the second consecutive day. The resistance movement has conducted multiple operations against Israel in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah's attacks on Israeli military and espionage sites have led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from areas close to the Lebanese border, with no immediate prospects for their return. The strikes have also inflicted significant casualties on the Israeli side, with some estimates suggesting around 500 soldiers have been killed or wounded.
