Muslim Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has submitted to the US Congress a list of Palestinian children killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, highlighting the devastating impact of US-funded weaponry. The list, published by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, spans 649 pages and includes the names of 710 babies under the age of one, among thousands of others.
“These are children—710 babies—murdered by the Israeli government. This is not self-defense; it is genocide,” stated Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, urging her colleagues to acknowledge the atrocities.
The Gaza Health Ministry's report, detailing the names, ages, and identification numbers of the deceased, documents 34,344 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces over the past 11 months. The ongoing conflict, fueled by US financial and military support, has resulted in the deaths of 11,355 children, making up a third of the total casualties.
Social media erupted with reactions to the grim statistics. Heba Gowayed, a sociology professor at the City University of New York, said, “This is a genocide of children. Fourteen pages of babies. This is an attempt to expunge a people.”
The devastating report reveals that American money is being transformed into bombs that indiscriminately kill Palestinian children, highlighting the urgent need for a reassessment of US foreign policy and military aid.
